From Vegas to Tokyo, Marshmello is a DJ and producer who is truly commanding the world stage. Selling out clubs and packing festival stages to the brim, Marshmello’s seamless combination of future bass, progressive house and trap have garnered him a global audience that seems to be more enraptured with the artist’s musical and aesthetic style daily. He has earned himself spots on the lineups of some of the biggest music festivals on Earth including EDC, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Ultra, Tomorrowland & Coachella and has spun at the hottest clubs, now making his way to ICON. In seemingly short order Marshmello has (anonymously) grown into one of the biggest names in the electronic music world.

While Marshmello’s explosive landing on the scene may be attributed to the theory that the masked DJ is the side project of a more established DJ and producer, there is no doubt that the quality of his creative output has alone justified his rise to most fans. Gaining attention at Miami Music Week and quickly becoming involved in Mad Decent Block Parties and Boat Party, Marshmello was around names who were both capable and intent on getting his music heard. In a sea of big names, it was Skrillex himself who began to share the producer’s tracks on his weekly list of favorites. Diplo shared his musical partner’s enthusiasm and when Marshmello’s first official release was a remix of Jack U’s smash hit “Where Are U Now” featuring Justin Bieber, it became clear that the DJ in the marshmallow helmet was on his way to becoming a household name.

It’s all about the live set, and while big name DJ’s know that, there’s a shorter list of acts that can create an especial level of turn up; Marshmello is definitely on it. From the near constantly flashing and color changing lights that accompany his performance to virtual confetti and tons of personal crowd engagement, he’s got the art of manipulating energy down to a science. Moving between trancy EDM tracks into brief moments of silence before massive trap drops, Marshmello lifts the crowd up before dropping them into an ocean of sounds repeatedly during his set. Basically, if Marshmello is on the scene, crowds all over the world are either singing along or in a complete frenzy. With his marshmallow helmet lit up in undulating neon pastels, dressed in all white and with the crowd in the palm of his hand, Marshmello has created a fan base with allegiance and solidified his spot as one of the most sought after DJs on the planet.
